About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Quality Engineer to join our team at TUI. As a key member of our quality engineering team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of our digital products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute quality strategies to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products and services.
  • Design, implement, and maintain efficient, automated test setups across the testing pyramid, including functional, integration, contract, performance, and load testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute quality strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Coach and support colleagues in ensuring the quality of software products throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the advancement of tooling, processes, and ways of working, ensuring continuous improvement and quality ownership.
  • Work with Product Owners to ensure testable feature specifications and champion approaches like test-driven development or behavior-driven development.
  • Drive technical excellence, ownership, and self-organization at the team and personal level.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Deep and proven practical knowledge of quality assurance practices, tools, and methods in an agile context and at scale.
  • Strong technical prowess in all quality assurance areas, including automation, functional, contract, integration, performance, and load testing.
  • Deep practical knowledge of software engineering practices like BDD and TDD.
  • Proven ability to define and execute quality strategies at scale.
  • Strong experience in end-to-end application testing (restful services, frontend application, automation).
  • Knowledge and preferably experience with testing tools such as BDD frameworks like Cucumber, API testing tools, CI/CD tools, Postman or similar tool for API testing, and JMeter or similar tool.
  • Good experience with CI/CD.
  • Customer-centric, passionate about delivering great digital products and services.
  • Demonstrating a true engineering craftsmanship mindset.
  • Passionate about continuous improvement, collaboration, and great teams.
  • Compelling coaching and training skills for imparting professional software engineering skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills coupled with good communication skills.
  • Understanding of social and ethical implications of software engineering (e.g., described in the ACM Code of Ethics).
