About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Consultant to join our team at PD - Berater der öffentlichen Hand GmbH. As a Cybersecurity Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting our clients in the public sector with their cybersecurity needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support strategic projects on the federal and state level in the field of cybersecurity, including digitalization projects in the administration and projects at security authorities, authorities with security tasks, and critical infrastructure
  • Close collaboration with CISOs/Information Security Officers on the federal and state level
  • Understanding and implementation of threat analyses and risk assessments, as well as their methodological context in the public sector
  • Analyze, design, and improve cybersecurity processes in the public sector
  • Support and consulting on IT vulnerability analyses
  • Support in establishing fundamental governance structures in the context of cybersecurity in the public administration on the federal and state level
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, economics, politics, social sciences, or public administration
  • Proven practice and project experience, e.g., in the context of internships in a management consulting firm and the public administration or a non-governmental organization, and experience with agile methods in process and project management
  • Basic understanding of the topic of cybersecurity in a technical, organizational, or strategic-political context, with initial verifiable experience in a consulting firm, the administration, industry, or a non-governmental organization
  • Understanding and experience with cybersecurity processes in the public sector and the interaction of various institutions or comparable institutions, e.g., in industry
  • Strategic thinking and a high affinity for topics related to the public sector and its digitalization in the context of cybersecurity
  • Teamwork, sovereign appearance, and conversation and negotiation skills
  • High level of understanding and enthusiasm for continuous personal development, as well as passion for the topic of cybersecurity in the public administration
