We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our team at the Institute of Bio- and Geosciences – Plant Sciences (IBG-2) at Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH.
The successful applicant will contribute to research on breeding crops resilient to climate change, leveraging state-of-the-art phenotyping methodologies in controlled environments. Our focus is on dynamic plant-environment interaction, with a specific emphasis on characterizing root architecture diversity in rye.
As a member of our interdisciplinary network funded by the German Ministry of Research (RYE-HUB), you will have the opportunity to collaborate with leading experts in plant phenotyping and genome-based breeding.
This PhD project offers a unique chance to develop your skills in digital phenotyping, data analysis, and research communication, all while contributing to the development of more resilient crop varieties.
We offer a salary of approximately €38,000 per year, plus additional benefits including health insurance and access to our state-of-the-art research facilities.
