Multilingual Computational Linguistics Expert

The Chair of Multilingual Computational Linguistics at the Universität Passau is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor to join its team. As a key member of the chair, you will contribute to the development of multilingual computational linguistics research and teaching.
Key Responsibilities- Teach classes on multilingual computational linguistics, with a focus on psycholinguistics, cognitive science, computational linguistics, linguistic typology, or historical linguistics.
- Conduct research on relevant topics of multilingual computational linguistics, with a special focus on cross-linguistic approaches.
- Assist the chair in building its teaching portfolio and collaborate with colleagues on research projects.
- Doctorate in computer science, computational linguistics, or general linguistics/comparative linguistics.
- Advanced knowledge of empirical research approaches in linguistics, with a focus on cross-linguistic approaches.
- Excellent programming skills, specifically in Python, and willingness to learn and improve software developed at the chair.
- Very good knowledge of spoken and written English and German.
