About the Role
This Trainee – Resource Development position at EMBL offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in fundraising and corporate relations. As a key member of our team, you will assist in planning and executing events, updating donor data, and performing administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and execution of fundraising and corporate relations events, including coordination with other EMBL departments.
- Update donor data in software programs and enter new donor data in cooperation with team members.
- Perform regular data checks in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Assist with mailings, filing, and other administrative tasks.
- Research prospective corporate, foundation, and individual donors.
- Liaise with the internal communications department to keep fundraising webpages up-to-date and assist with uploading content.
- Attend department and team meetings.
- Assist in preparation and drafting of donor communication and impact reports.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Requirements
- Interest in the nonprofit sector.
- Fluency in English; German would be an asset.
- Very good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Previous nonprofit experience and/or coursework in fundraising, nonprofit management, marketing, and communications is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and use of the Internet is required. Knowledge of InDesign and WordPress would be an asset. Experience working with CRM databases would be beneficial.
