Computer Science Student

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled student in the field of computer science, energy engineering, or a related discipline to join our team at the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR). As a member of our Institute of Networked Energy Systems, you will contribute to the development of an electric vehicle charging infrastructure ontology.
Key Responsibilities- Implement application scenarios associated with charging infrastructure registries
- Research and collect important terminology associated with industry standards and protocols
- Develop ontology axioms in the web ontology language (OWL)
- Participate in the modelling discussion process during regular developer meetings
- Perform extensive documentation of the collecting process with emphasis on potential data licensing risks
- Currently registered student in the field of computer science, engineering, or a comparable discipline
- Scripting and programming skills with one or more of the following languages: java, python, shell
- Experience following software development workflows using issue boards (i.e. GitHub)
- Basic technical knowledge of distribution grids, electric vehicles, and their charging infrastructure
- Ability to work independently and willingness to speak up when finding challenges
- Excellent English competence, must be able to understand and explain technical documents
- Familiarity with semantic web stack would be an advantage (for example: RDF, SPARQL, OWL and Protégé)
