As a PhD student, you will work on the investigation of novel 2D heterostructures composed of ferromagnetic and semiconducting materials. Your research will focus on optical spectroscopy experiments to study the interlayer twist and its effects on the material properties. You will collaborate with colleagues at PDI and within the FVB to design and fabricate samples, as well as gain insights from complementary methods.

**Responsibilities:**

* Fabrication of heterostructure samples
* Optical spectroscopy measurements
* Data analysis and interpretation
* Manuscript preparation and presentation at conferences
* Pursuing a doctoral degree in physics

**Requirements:**

* Master degree in physics or related
* Background in experimental condensed-matter physics
* Hands-on experience in optical spectroscopy
* Skills in construction and alignment of optical setups is a plus
* Skill and patience in performing challenging experimental work
* Good communication skills and the spirit to work in an interdisciplinary and diverse team
