About the Role

At Google, we're committed to creating a secure and trustworthy environment for our users and developers. As a Security Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our systems and infrastructure. You'll work closely with our network equipment and actively monitor our systems for potential threats and vulnerabilities.

Our team's mission is to deliver security of New Product Introduction heading to Google Production. By securing the hardware and firmware in production, we work with a wide range of teams to design, review, verify, and implement platform security improvements, acceptance tests, firmware, and other technical controls.

As a Security Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from identifying security issues and implementing security controls to designing and engineering security solutions. You'll also have the chance to collaborate with our platform engineering teams to shape the security of new and changing platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement security controls, tools, and services to improve security systems and processes.
  • Work with platform engineering teams to shape the security of new and changing platforms.
  • Develop threat models and security requirements to best understand who/what we need to protect against and how systems should be protected.
  • Assess existing production infrastructure to identify latent and/or systemic issues and drive remediation efforts to address them.
