Windows Systems Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Windows Systems Engineer to join our team at FactSet. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing virtual and physical solutions that meet the needs of our stakeholders.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Design and implement virtual and physical solutions based on stakeholder requirements, ensuring seamless integration with our existing infrastructure.
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot VMWare server performance and stability issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring high availability.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, driving continuous improvement in our infrastructure operations.
  • Plan and execute capacity expansions, ensuring our infrastructure can scale to meet the needs of our growing business.

**Minimum Qualifications**

  • 5+ years' experience with VMWare vSphere administration, with a strong understanding of virtualization technologies.

**Critical Skills**

  • Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with PowerShell and PowerCLI, with a strong understanding of scripting and automation.
  • Participation in a periodic 24x7 on-call rotation, ensuring our infrastructure is always available and responsive.

**Additional/Highly Desired Skills**

  • Hands-on experience with creating advanced automation using PowerShell and PowerCLI, with a strong understanding of automation principles.
  • Experience with public cloud services, such as AWS/Azure, and infrastructure as code (IAC) tools, such as Terraform.
  • Knowledge of non-vSphere hypervisors, container platforms, and networking fundamentals, including TCP, DNS, LAN/WAN, load balancers, and firewalls.

**Education**

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent, with a strong foundation in computer systems and networking.
