Your Contribution
Handshake is in search of an enthusiastic and proactive Financial Operations Student Intern to assist in overseeing the financial activities of our expanding team in the EMEA region.
You will collaborate with both internal and external partners, engage in essential financial processes on a global scale, and play a crucial role in enhancing the overall financial performance of Handshake. Working closely with the Financial Controller and reporting to the Managing Director in Germany, your primary focus will be on various accounting responsibilities within our EMEA operations.
Your Responsibilities
Acquire knowledge about the accounting operations in our EMEA region and manage various tasks in these domains. Actively participate in daily business functions, ensuring a thorough understanding of our financial workflows. Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities, forecasts, and budgeting processes. Support the enhancement of financial workflows by identifying opportunities for automation and digital transformation, contributing to the development of our finance, controlling, and accounting framework.Your Qualifications
Proficient in both German and English. Currently enrolled in a business administration program with a concentration in accounting, finance, controlling, or a related field. Previous experience, such as internships or student roles, in Accounting, Finance, or similar areas is beneficial. Solid understanding of accounting principles, standards, and a keen interest in controlling. Proficient in MS Office (especially Microsoft Excel), VBA, and possess a strong affinity for numbers along with familiarity with various controlling systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English. Ability to work independently and reliably. Outstanding organizational abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a high level of accuracy in tasks.
