Data Science Working Student

We are looking for a motivated and talented working student to join our team at the August-Wilhelm Scheer Institut. As a working student, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects in the field of data science and artificial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and apply techniques from computer vision and deep learning to large amounts of quality data from different industries.
  • Work on innovation projects and help with the creation, training, and evaluation of AI models using classical and neural machine learning techniques.
  • Support the development of new innovative ideas, concepts, algorithms, and solutions in the AI context.
  • Apply the latest algorithms and techniques from the fields of computer vision, image processing, or audio processing.
  • Further develop existing algorithms to improve the performance of the models.
  • Help with the preparation and annotation of data.
  • Conceptualize and implement prototypes using the latest technologies.
  • Support the preparation of scientific publications.

Requirements:

  • Currently studying data science, computer science, physics, or a related subject.
  • Good programming skills in an object-oriented programming language, ideally Python or C#.
  • Practical knowledge of deep learning frameworks such as Pytorch, Keras, or Tensor Flow.
  • High degree of initiative, creative will, and teamwork skills.
  • Strong understanding of theoretical concepts of classical and neural machine learning methods.
  • Enthusiasm for solving challenging problems using machine learning.
