Data Scientist for Energy Trading

Vattenfall, a leading European energy company, is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join its Trading Analysis & Algorithms department. As a Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in providing market insights, analysis, and commercial decision support across all commodity areas.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Supporting energy traders and trading analysts in identifying, reviewing, and integrating new information and sources/feeds for market or fundamental data.
- Further developing and automating routines, procedures, and applications for analysis-related information and data flows.
- Visualizing data and analyses in dashboards.
- Conducting commercially relevant quantitative analyses using advanced analytics.
- Tackling programming challenges.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong background in data science, statistics, computer science, engineering, or natural sciences.
- Excellent programming skills, particularly in Python.
- Ability to work with large, complex data sets in various formats.
- Knowledge of energy markets is advantageous but not required.
- Good English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate with various internal stakeholders.
