About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our team at Fachhochschule Dortmund. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and interdisciplinary team working on edge computing research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop tools to measure and analyze network performance with edge applications
  • Create new network-related approaches to facilitate new types of services and optimize the performance of edge applications
  • Contribute to the edge emulation and edge diagnostics toolsets
  • Identify research areas in alignment with project objectives and constraints
  • Produce scientific publications on edge research for conferences and journals
  • Work in an excellent lab environment with cutting-edge technology
  • Collaborate with an international team of IT, network, and application experts
Requirements
  • Master's degree in information technology or computer science or an adjacent field
  • Strong knowledge of network technologies (TCP/IP, Routing, Switching)
  • Basic understanding of 5G network technologies
  • Basic knowledge of software development (object-oriented languages)
  • Good understanding of virtualization, container, and orchestration technologies
  • Willingness to learn about edge computing, system performance optimization, and applied artificial intelligence
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
