About the Role

CargoKite GmbH is seeking a highly skilled Head of Electrical Development to join our team in Munich. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of our wind-powered ship class's electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of electrical systems, including generators, power distribution, and control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system requirements are met.
  • Design and develop ship electrical and control systems.
  • Provide power system and electrical load analyses.
  • Prepare equipment and installation specifications.
  • Develop testing and commissioning specifications and procedures.
  • Mentor a team of embedded engineers.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in shipbuilding or the maritime industry.
  • Expertise in electrical and control systems, including generators, power distribution, and control systems.
  • Experience with on-board networks and redundant systems.
  • Knowledge of classification society rules and regulations, international electrical standards, and equipment survivability conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on, results-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
