Job Description

We're seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Architect to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust system, cloud, software, and infrastructure architectures that safeguard our networks, systems, and applications from business-relevant cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement security solutions architectures that align with business goals and ensure appropriate mitigation of business-relevant threats.
  • Support and coordinate security assessments, risk analysis, and threat modeling to identify vulnerabilities and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with engineering and development teams to integrate security into system designs, software development, and cloud infrastructure by following security-by-design best practices.
  • Support the definition and enforcement of security policies, standards, and best practices and the QIAGEN enterprise cyber security architecture framework across the organization.
  • Monitor emerging threats and technologies, staying ahead of cyber risks by adapting architectures and strategies accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST).
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in cyber security, Information Technology, or a related field (master's preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in Cyber Security, with a strong focus on architecture and design.
  • Good understanding of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), as well as knowledge of threat landscapes and attack vectors.
  • Expertise in cloud security (Azure, AWS), network security, and securing hybrid infrastructures.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise security capabilities or system (solution) security capabilities by applying security-by-design principles.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Certifications such as SABSA, CISSP – are a plus.
