With its headquarters in Zurich, the company operates as a project developer, technology provider, and contractor for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of turnkey plants and system solutions for thermal and biological waste treatment, gas processing, and power-to-gas.
Job DescriptionAs a Senior System Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and documenting control systems in coordination with internal procedures, combustion, and boiler technology. Your scope of work will typically include the combustion and boiler, as well as associated equipment such as air supply, hydraulics, burners, and boiler cleaning. Additionally, you may be involved in the design and implementation of peripheral systems (cooling water, compressed air, process water supply), the water-steam circuit, and flue gas cleaning.
- Independently handle tasks related to automation and control technology for projects in the Waste-to-Energy sector.
- Develop and implement process-related requirements and define the task assignment to automation technology in the form of function plans, primarily according to VGB guidelines, but also according to other externally specified standards.
- Create function plans (FuP) and functional design specifications (FDS) in COMOS PT, as well as control room displays.
- Provide guidance and support to internal departments and teams regarding automation and control technology requirements.
- Exchange information and instruct the EMSR programmer based on the documents created by him (FuP, FDS).
- Commission automation functions with a focus on regulation optimization in close cooperation with internal process and mechanical commissioning, as well as commissioning personnel from suppliers and control technology on construction sites worldwide.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Automation Technology with a focus on regulation technology or comparable fields.
- Relevant professional experience in project planning, documentation, and commissioning of control systems, regulation circuits, switching automations, start/stop sequences, and combustion control systems in waste incineration plants.
- Competence in creating function plans and safe handling of planning software (AutoCAD and particularly COMOS PT).
- Fundamental knowledge of relevant programming languages and systems.
- Customer orientation and willingness to work on long-term assignments worldwide.
- Good English language skills in writing and speaking.
- Willingness to participate in commissioning activities worldwide for a period of approximately 4 to 6 weeks.
