About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Development Engineer to join our team at AVL Deutschland GmbH. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of electrical systems for land, construction, and commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead the development of series production projects from component and system integration to the development of complete vehicles.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, including work packages and milestones, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct technical evaluations and provide recommendations for project approval.
  • Develop feasibility studies, task lists, cost estimates, and target cost tracking, taking into account industrialization requirements for small and medium-sized production.
  • Design, conceptualize, and detail electrical systems and their integration into land, construction, and commercial vehicles, as well as perform technical calculations and derive optimization measures.
  • Develop vehicle electrical systems, including electrical architecture, vehicle topology, circuit design, support, and maintenance of 3D routing in vehicles, as well as derivation of drawings.
  • Maintain technical documentation, conduct technical risk assessments, and participate in supplier identification.
  • Develop 3D data, maintain product structures in PDM systems, and package individual components.
  • Support prototype construction, testing, and certification, as well as prototype part and series procurement.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering, vehicle technology, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in the development of tractors and construction machinery, electrical and electronics for mobile working machines, and control and regulation technology.
  • Experience in vehicle architecture, electrical system development, and circuit design, as well as the use of tools such as E³, Mentor, ePlan, risk and system analysis, and relevant standards.
  • Proficiency in CAD-3D design software (preferably ProE/Creo, Catia v5, etc.) and PDM systems.
  • Excellent communication skills in an international environment.
  • Ability to work independently, with a high level of motivation and a willingness to learn.
  • Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken, as well as proficiency in common office applications.
