Head of Software Development and Innovation

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Software Development and Innovation to join our team at the Deutscher Fußball-Bund e.V. (DFB). As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our software development teams and driving innovation in our product clusters.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the department's vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Team Management: Form and manage development teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical leadership and expertise, ensuring the development of high-quality software solutions.
- Agile Methodologies: Implement and maintain agile development methodologies, ensuring efficient and effective project delivery.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including Enterprise Architecture, Operations, and other departments.
- Recruitment and Development: Recruit, manage, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring the necessary technical skills and expertise.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement processes, ensuring the development of scalable and efficient software solutions.
- Education: Master's degree in Computer Science or Business Informatics, with further training and certification in software development, agile methods, and employee management.
- Experience: Several years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in software development, with extensive management experience and a proven track record of leading development teams and implementing software projects.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in agile development environments, software architecture, cloud deployments, and experience with common technologies and frameworks such as Java, JavaScript, and databases.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts in an understandable way, and experience in budget planning and resource management.
