Dialysis Nurse

The Dialysis Registered Nurse is an entry-level position responsible for providing and coordinating clinically competent care for patients undergoing hemodialysis. This role involves assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care, as well as delegation of tasks to direct patient care staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Assess and document patient/family learning needs, providing initial and ongoing education.
- Direct and provide hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients, administering medications as prescribed.
- Initiate or assist with emergency response measures, ensuring patient safety.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify expected outcomes and update the nursing assessment and plan of care.
- Ensure patient awareness of transplant and treatment modality options.
The Dialysis Registered Nurse works in a fast-paced healthcare environment, requiring frequent standing, bending, and lifting of patients and equipment. The role may involve exposure to infectious and contagious diseases.
Requirements:- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current appropriate state licensure.
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
- Minimum of 9 months experience as a Registered Nurse, with chronic/acute hemodialysis experience preferred.
