Job Title: Scientific Data Manager

The Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) is seeking a highly skilled Scientific Data Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Inter-Sectoral Impact Model Intercomparison Project (ISIMIP), you will be responsible for coordinating and managing data flows between consortium members, modeling teams, and the ISIMIP data management team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage data flows between consortium members, modeling teams, and the ISIMIP data management team.
  • Interact with consortium members and modeling teams to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Curate and communicate changes and caveats of the ISIMIP data portfolio.
  • Pre- and post-process climate impact simulation data generated in NEVERMORE and SPARCCLE projects.
  • Process and provide ISIMIP simulation data and formats as requested by project partners.
  • Attend project meetings and contribute to project reports and deliverables.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a field related to quantitative or natural sciences.
  • Strong programming skills, including Python, Linux Bash scripting, and CDO.
  • Expertise in processing large-scale data sets, especially NetCDF Files.
  • Proficiency in oral and written English.
