Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer for Battery Systems to join our team at Volocopter GmbH. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and executing tests for our battery systems, ensuring their safety and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans for battery systems, including HIL testing, thermal runaway, and vibration testing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and develop tests that allow understanding component and system behavior
  • Supervise and support test execution with external suppliers, as well as executing tests yourself
  • Review and analyze test results, creating conclusive reports and recommendations for improvement

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in testing batteries or similar products in a technical environment
  • Ability to define and build test systems and setups
  • Technical knowledge in battery development and/or test for high current applications
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in aviation industry and regulation
  • Knowledge of automotive standards like ECE R100, ISO 26262, or aviation standards like DO160G and DO311A
  • High Voltage training 2E according to DGUV-I or comparable
  • Experience in V-Cycle and AGILE/SCRUM environments and awareness of methodologies and used tools
