Job Description

As an Electric Propulsion Systems Engineer at Volocopter GmbH, you will play a crucial role in the development of our electric propulsion system. Your expertise in electrical systems engineering will be essential in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems for our aircraft, including power distribution and controlled electric motors
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate requirements and design descriptions for system and component level
  • Support the development of system and aircraft level requirements assessments
  • Review and analyze supplier documents, requirement specifications, and design description documents
  • Specify and support validation and verification activities for aircraft and component requirements
  • Support system level and component level milestones, including PDR, CDR, and TRR
  • Provide support for formal audits and exchanges with regulatory bodies, as needed

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge and experience with systems engineering, requirement management, and system architecture in aviation or complex product development
  • Knowledge of certification and development processes
  • Proficient in at least one requirements management tool
  • Team player with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Fluent in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of Li-ion batteries, brushless DC motor control, DC power distribution, digital communication buses, and/or model-based systems engineering
  • Experience with FMEA and FMECA
  • Knowledge of ARP4761
