About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Science Senior/Expert to join our team at SAP. As a key member of our Customer Innovation Services EMEA Build (Engineering) team, you will be responsible for developing AI use cases end-to-end, increasing automation in business cases, and working on the entire lifecycle for customer-specific projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop AI use cases from analysis and specification of business requirements gathered in customer workshops to designing AI models and implementing them in customer projects.
  • Work on the entire lifecycle for customer-specific projects, including analysis, specification, design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other Data Scientists in AI matters and with Development architects to define and implement a state-of-the-art overall solution.
  • Implement use cases in software, applying state-of-the-art source code tools and cloud frameworks.
  • Support the business use case development process from ideation to solution delivery with the aim to increase business case automation.
  • Create AI models by applying mathematical tools like classic AI, statistical concepts, stochastics, and time series analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, excellent presentation skills, and experienced in customer interaction, such as customer workshops or technical management of customer escalations.
  • Comply with development standards and methodologies (Scrum, quality, security, performance).
  • Self-motivating style of working combined with a continuous learning mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, German is a plus.

Requirements
  • Degree in physics, mathematics, or similar field, ideally Ph.D.
  • 8+ years of experience in delivering and/or managing data science projects. Several full project lifecycles desired.
  • Experience in implementing Generative AI and Machine Learning use cases.
  • Support definition of use cases and be part of use case value generation.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, excellent presentation skills, and experienced in customer interaction.
  • Comply with development standards and methodologies (Scrum, quality, security, performance).
  • Self-motivating style of working combined with a continuous learning mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, German is a plus.
