About the Role

Sofitex Talent Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Production Assistant to join our team. As a Production Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the management of translation production, ensuring the smooth execution of translation projects from launch to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility for own translation projects, planning and scheduling, pre-processing of documents, and tracking documents received for translation or editing.
  • Prepare texts for translation, analyzing and checking texts, including pre- and post-processing, and finding and attaching reference material.
  • Prepare and follow up on large projects, dealing simultaneously with in-house and external translators, monitoring the entire workflow from editing, translation, revision, to proofreading and close of project.
  • Finalize translation projects, ensuring language versions are correctly formatted, complete, and without formal mistakes, and updating translation memories for outsourced languages.
  • Supervise the translation workflow, interacting with clients and translators, negotiating deadlines, and correcting data input into the workflow management tool.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of procedures, particularly in the Production Management Unit.

Requirements

Typical background:

Secondary level education, complemented with a 2-year certification in a relevant field, or secondary level education with equally qualified experience in a relevant field.

At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in a translation environment, with experience with workflow management an asset.

Thorough knowledge of computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, excellent formatting skills, and good knowledge of standard office tools.

Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and good command of French, with knowledge of German an advantage.

This is an opportunity for an initial contract of 2 months, with possible extensions afterwards.

Salary ranges between 4200€ and 5000€ gross per month, depending on experience.
