About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join our team at Sidekick Health Germany GmbH. As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining our backend systems, working closely with frontend developers, UX/UI designers, and Product Owners to deliver top-notch products that help users improve their health and habits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building backend systems and services to support our ongoing growth
  • Maintaining and optimizing existing applications
  • Implementing and documenting APIs
  • Support and discuss technical decisions that shape the future of our infrastructure
  • Working on multiple interesting projects together with a multidisciplinary team of frontend and backend developers, UX/UI designers and Product Owners

Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of experience in building Python applications for production environments
  • Experience with working in projects with micro-service architecture
  • Strong working knowledge of Python based frameworks like Django and FastAPI
  • Solid understanding of relational database systems (ideally Postgres, others appreciated) and experience with Python ORMs like Django ORM or Sqlalchemy
  • Knowledge of message-broker software (RabbitMQ, Redis, Azure Service Bus, Kafka, AWS SQS)
  • Working experience with Docker, Kubernetes and general understanding of CI/CD setup
  • Ideally familiarity with developing REST APIs with Golang and GORM
  • Ideally experience with other backend languages and frameworks
  • Testing experience using Pytest
  • Motivation to build backend systems in a regulated health tech environment
  • Strong interest in clean code and clean architecture to build a scalable and maintainable code base
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
