About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant & Controller to join our team at Duffle. As our first member of the Finance department, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all operational accounting functions;
  • Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results;
  • Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements;
  • Coordinate activities of external auditors;
  • Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process;
  • Manage the budget process;
  • Assess current accounting operations, offer recommendations for improvement, and implement new processes;
  • Evaluate accounting and internal control systems and the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed;
  • Consult and advise on invoicing between Duffle, Merchant, Airport, and Payment Service Provider across multiple locations;
  • Develop and monitor business performance metrics;
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance;
  • Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting staff.
Requirements
  • Completed training as an accountant, controller, or comparable financial training;
  • Well-rounded professional experience in Finance departments handling the tasks described above;
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including German GAAP (HGB);
  • Good user knowledge of Datev;
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
  • Ability to work independently with structure and in a proactive way;
  • Fluent English language skills.
