We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Transformation Lead to join our team and make a significant impact on our global Finance and accounting processes. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming our Finance operating model, deriving best practices, and harmonizing them across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capture the 'as-is' Finance function operating model across all jurisdictions, including people, processes, technology, data, and underlying controls.
- Work with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Finance Leadership Team to derive the design principles for the 'to-be' target state at the Group centre and across all labs, globally.
- Visit country Finance teams, holding process deep-dive workshops to baseline the 'as-is' state, understanding and documenting pain points / areas where improvement is required.
- Define a global process taxonomy and underlying end-to-end Finance processes for the 'to-be' target state, introducing automation where possible. These will act as the blueprint for the global Finance transformation program.
- Work with Finance leadership to define the business requirements that will inform the required changes to the Finance IT landscape. Play a central role in orchestrating UAT, cut-over, and hypercare of new systems implementation.
- Oversee, direct, and programme manage the rollout of all Finance transformation projects and initiatives from the Group centre and across the globe, collaborating with Finance Leadership in Berlin and Country CFOs, whilst instructing external service providers where necessary.
- Train and upskill Finance colleagues in new ways of working, regularly presenting and iterating process and systems documentation.
- Work with the CFO to trouble-shoot where a Finance operating model issue arises.
- Empathetic personality with strong communication skills.
- Successfully completed degree, e.g. in economics, or economic-technical with a focus on finance or accounting, or comparable long-term experience in finance & accounting.
- Professional experience, preferably in management consulting, accounting, finance target operating model design, process reengineering, and project management.
- Strong analytical, structured, conceptual thinking.
- Analytical and independent way of working with clear goals and a high level of commitment.
- Communication skills and intercultural competence. Team spirit, 'can-do mentality,' and flexibility.
- Willingness to travel domestically and abroad. Following an initial period of travel, a large proportion of the work will eventually be possible on site at headquarters or remote.
- Knowledge of German and English: Fluent in spoken and written communication.
