Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at SCHMID. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing new machine and plant types, as well as improving existing ones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conception, development, and design of new machine and plant types
  • Calculation and interpretation of assemblies and components
  • Realization of feasibility analyses
  • Design of prototypes and functional samples
  • Determination and selection of suitable manufacturing processes
  • Preparation and elaboration of requirement specifications, FMEAs, and risk assessments
  • Planning, supervision, and documentation of tests for new and further developments

Requirements

  • Completed studies in engineering (e.g., mechanical engineering, product development, or similar) or comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience in the field of development/design
  • High degree of independence and personal responsibility
  • Joy in analytical work and transfer of knowledge
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Microsoft Office skills
