As a Corporate Commodity Engineer (f/m/d) specializing in Standard Semiconductors, you will:
- Act as a Technical Authority: Serve as the technical expert and mentor for a variety of Standard Semiconductors (including analog, discrete, opto, logic components, and Timing Devices) within the SCM Pooled Direct organization.
- Drive Commodity Strategy: Collaborate closely with commercial partners, including PuC Managers for Commodity Components and Integrated Circuits, to develop and implement the commodity strategy for your designated material field, focusing on Cost and Value Engineering, Supplier Portfolio Management, Innovation Management, Supplier Quality Management, and Sustainability.
- Manage Portfolio: Develop and implement a standardization approach related to raw materials, components, technology, and base specifications to facilitate the structured selection of advantageous components from a well-sized supply base.
- Promote Sustainability: Collaborate with the supplier network and internal cross-functional teams to actively contribute to Siemens' sustainability objectives.
- Foster Innovation: Identify and evaluate innovative ideas, proposals, solutions, and products from suppliers, assessing their impact and applicability for Siemens. Selected innovations that meet the demands of your cross-functional partners will be developed and implemented.
- Support Cost & Value Engineering: Assist the business by managing and executing Cost and Value Engineering projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams, deriving efficiency measures from cost and price transparency.
- Oversee Supplier Portfolio: Influence the selection of preferred suppliers and components during the early design phase, providing technical expertise and cost information. You will also be responsible for the selection, introduction, development, and phase-out of suppliers, coordinating pre-assessment and audit activities within your cross-functional team.
- Enhance Supplier Quality: Collaborate with your cross-business team to implement a proactive Supplier Quality strategy that ensures compliance with evolving requirements, enhances supplier performance, and mitigates supply chain risks.
- Lead and Build Networks: Coordinate global technology and quality networks, ensuring timely information exchange.
- Degree in electrical engineering, industrial engineering and management, or a related field.
- Extensive professional experience in Supply Chain Management, product development, R&D, and/or engineering roles.
- Strategic orientation, innovative decision-making, customer focus, results-driven, and adept at building networks and partnerships.
- Creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and analytically to navigate challenges and identify innovative solutions.
- Proficient in negotiation, presentation, and facilitation techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of the manufacturing and application of relevant products.
- Expertise in project management, cost analysis, optimization, and managing cross-functional and multicultural teams.
- International experience and adaptability to different cultures, with a background in leading global teams being advantageous.
- Familiarity with preventive quality methods, quality management systems, and audit experience for electronic components and production processes.
- Ideally, possess knowledge of relevant procurement processes.
- Fluency in both German and English, written and spoken, is essential.
