Licensed Practical Nurse

This position is responsible for providing evidence-based nursing care to patients in a correctional setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a corrections or law enforcement environment and possess a valid unrestricted Virginia LPN license.

• Provide nursing care to patients in a correctional setting
• Screen for sick call and administer medications as needed
• Provide first aid and basic life support to patients and employees
• Maintain open lines of communication with security and treatment staff
• Record all pertinent information into the medical record

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Valid unrestricted Virginia LPN license
• Experience in carrying out provider's orders in applying treatments
• Maintaining appropriate documentation
• Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers with current certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)

• Experience working in a corrections or law enforcement environment
• Experience or related training in delivery of general nursing and emergency medical care
