Join Our Team as a PhD Student in AI for Sustainability

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our team at SAP, where you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects in AI for sustainability. As a PhD student, you will be part of our Sustainability Innovation Engagement team, which is responsible for supporting the digital sustainability transformation of SAP customers.

About the Role

As a PhD student, you will be responsible for identifying research opportunities and gaps in making businesses more sustainable by leveraging AI. You will work closely with our team to explore the problem space of digital sustainability transformation of organizations and develop prototypical solutions in the form of AI-based software artifacts. You will also evaluate these solutions in a practical context in cooperation with SAP customers and/or partners.

What You Will Do
  • Conduct research on AI for sustainability and identify opportunities for innovation
  • Develop AI-based software artifacts to support digital sustainability transformation
  • Evaluate solutions in a practical context with SAP customers and/or partners
  • Deliver design knowledge for the field of AI for Sustainability

Requirements
  • PhD Student / doctoral candidate (f/m/d) of a university or a university of applied sciences
  • Computer skills: Python, AI, ML, GenAI, LLM's
  • Language skills: fluent in English
  • Soft skills: team player, creative, geek in AI, programming and as a plus, sustainability
