Enterprise Directory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Systems Engineer to join our team at EMBL. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing and administering our enterprise directory, identity and access management systems, as well as monitoring and alerting systems.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement enterprise directory and identity management solutions
- Administer monitoring and alerting systems to ensure optimal IT service delivery
- Manage corporate messaging systems, including email
- Co-manage high-end data storage, backup, and archiving infrastructure
- Coordinate and oversee development projects with the WebDev Team
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve IT infrastructure and services
- Track and document support events and infrastructure development to ensure excellent service quality and end-user satisfaction
- Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- At least 5 years of professional experience in managing medium to large-sized heterogeneous IT environments
- Experience with technologies such as NetApp, IBM TSM, MySQL, Cisco ESA, LDAP, Zabbix, FreeRADIUS, Ansible, and VMware
- Familiarity with protocols like DNS, DHCP, SMTP, IMAP, SQL, and AAI
- Solid experience in Linux system administration
- Advanced scripting skills in Perl, Python, or Shell
- Basic knowledge of networking and IT security
