Breeding Technician (m/f/d) for Product Development in RyeBelt

We are seeking a highly skilled Breeding Technician to join our team at KWS LOCHOW GmbH in Germany. As a key member of our Product Development team, you will play a crucial role in the development of hybrid rye for new markets.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising breeding trials across multiple test environments to ensure optimal crop yields and quality.
  • Planning, coordinating, and executing field-data assessments to inform breeding decisions.
  • Designing and statistically analyzing breeding trials to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Reporting data analyses to inform breeding strategies and optimize crop development.
  • Managing seed inventories and variety lists to ensure efficient breeding operations.
  • Documenting variety applications and data in designated databases to maintain accurate records.
  • Providing technical supervision and guidance to seasonal staff to ensure seamless breeding operations.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A completed training or studies in agriculture, plant breeding, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of design and experimental analysis to inform breeding decisions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel, and experience with common-purpose databases and statistical software.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills, with basic knowledge of German or a willingness to learn the language.
  • An open and collaborative personality with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • A high level of flexibility, attention to detail, and an independent working style.
  • A willingness to travel (up to 10%) and hold a valid driving license class B.
