Research Scientist Hydrogen Safety CFD Simulation

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at the Fraunhofer-Institut für Kurzzeitdynamik, Ernst-Mach-Institut EMI. As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for developing physics-based models and efficient algorithms for our CFD tool, the "APOLLO Blastsimulator".
About the Role:- Develop and implement numerical methods for CFD and structural mechanics
- Conduct simulation studies on HPC systems using OpenFOAM or Ansys Fluent
- Collaborate with international project partners to coordinate research work
- Present research results through reports and publications to clients and partners

Requirements:- Completed university degree (Master/Diploma) in Engineering, an applied natural science, or a related STEM subject
- Profound knowledge in fluid and thermo dynamics, numerical methods for CFD, and structural mechanics
- Experience in programming (Fortran, C++) and knowledge of relevant IDEs and parallelization strategies
- German and English language skills of at least C1 level in spoken and written
