Electrical Engineer
Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in Cologne or Munich.
About the Role: As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects as a technical expert. Your key responsibilities will include evaluating stand-alone and co-located BESS (PV and BESS) projects at all voltage levels from a technical perspective. You will also provide support throughout the entire permitting process and grid connection by liaising with internal and external technical and commercial teams.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate stand-alone and co-located BESS (PV and BESS) projects at all voltage levels from a technical perspective.
- Support the development of best-practice layouts to address specific project challenges, such as limited space or noise control regulations.
- Provide technical due diligence information and reports for investors.
- Collaborate with internal procurement, engineering, and contracting teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental and Energy Technology, or a related field.
- Strong technical expertise in battery technology, power electronics, energy management systems, and grid integration strategies.
- Knowledge of modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, ETAP, and Energy Storage System (ESS) software platforms.
- Proven experience in the development, implementation, and optimization of Battery Energy Storage Systems, preferably in the renewable energy or utility sector.
- Fluency in both German and English.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
