Postdoctoral Researcher in Cognitive Neuroscience

About the Position
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Universitätsmedizin Essen. The successful candidate will investigate cognitive modulators of pain and analgesia in health and chronic pain using functional/anatomical magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI/MRI) and pharmacological interventions.
Responsibilities
- Design and conduct experimental behavioral, pharmacological, and neuroimaging studies using brain imaging methods (fMRI/MRI, PET-MR) and related software (SPM, FSL or nipype)
- Supervise doctoral students and provide guidance on research projects
- Contribute to the development of research proposals and publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Collaborate with colleagues from other departments to advance research goals
Requirements
- PhD-degree in Psychology, Neuroscience or related fields with documented research experience and publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Expertise in designing experimental studies and proficiency in at least one programming language (Matlab, R, python, etc.)
- Excellent command of oral and written English is essential; German-language skills are beneficial
- Great communication skills, high flexibility, and strong commitment are essential
