We are a young and dynamic team of engineers who are passionate about building innovative solutions to improve the user experience. Our team is responsible for developing the Help Center, a critical component of our platform that provides support to millions of users.

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Backend Engineer to join our team and lead the development of the Help Center. As a Lead Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building features that improve our members' lives by providing fast and effortless access to help. You will work closely with our cross-functional team to develop a scalable and highly effective Customer Support Chatbot that assists Vinted members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build features that improve our members' lives by providing fast and effortless access to help
  • Collaborate with other developers during pairing sessions, design deep dives, and code reviews
  • Continuously improve our code quality and nurture our test suite (RSpec)
  • Work with Golang, Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Memcached, Redis, Kafka, Vespa, and other technologies
  • Craft code that can handle more than 2M requests per minute on our Kubernetes clusters
  • Tightly collaborate with our Staff Engineer on architectural topics and support other engineers in their growth

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge in multiple high-level programming languages and extensive experience in software development
  • Profound expertise in Golang; knowledge in Ruby on Rails is a plus
  • Excitement to learn and master new technologies and concepts
  • Experience or interest in AI, LLM, chatbots, or search technology is a plus
  • Desire and commitment to grow personally and professionally
  • Prior experience in mentoring engineers
  • Proficient communication in spoken and written English

Individual Learning Budget

We have adopted a hybrid workplace model where 2 days in the office are recommended but not enforced. It's up to you and your team to decide on the exact days you'll spend working together in person.

The salary range for this position is €88,000 - €120,000 gross per year.
