We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join our Functional Microbiome Research Group at the Institute of Medical Microbiology of the University Hospital in Aachen.
About the Role
As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will work in a dynamic and collaborative team to investigate the effects of personalized gut microbiomes on the host. You will be responsible for conducting gnotobiotic experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the development of new research projects.
Responsibilities
- Design and conduct gnotobiotic experiments to study the effects of personalized gut microbiomes on the host
- Analyze data and contribute to the development of new research projects
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement new research protocols
- Participate in the Gnotobiotic Unit and contribute to the maintenance of the anaerobic cultivation platform
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A PhD degree in a relevant field (e.g. microbiology, immunology, biochemistry)
- Experience working with mice, including a FELASA certificate or equivalent
- Strong interest in working in the field of microbiology, particularly gut microbiomes
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Very good command of the English language (oral and written)
- Good knowledge of German (oral only) may be an advantage
