About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team at Amazon Deutschland Transport GmbH - B78. As a key member of our Site Procurement Operations team, you will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of the purchase to pay process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support local Procurement activities related to new site launches
  • Provide ongoing Procurement support to existing sites
  • Deliver policy and process training to requesters and key stakeholders/functions
  • Identify and manage a local supply base
  • Manage a local category
  • Manage supplier relationships
  • Enforce and monitor Procurement policy compliance and work with relevant individuals to make improvements where required
  • Proactively lead, execute, and support local and EU-wide procurement project activities throughout all phases of the project
  • Partner with other Country Procurement Specialists to consolidate the supply base and Business as usual (BAU) requirements at an EU level
  • Identify savings opportunities and partner with Category Managers to deliver savings through tenders/negotiations/contract renewals
  • Manage the relationship with our internal customers
  • Will to travel throughout the EU
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with Procurement or Supply Chain or significant Procurement experience in Sourcing, Contracts Management, or equivalent role
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Effective listening, communication (verbal and written), and commercial mindset
  • Bias for action and result-driven mindset
  • Any additional sourcing and/or purchasing competencies would be advantageous
  • Demonstrated success managing inventory, including auditing, forecasting, and planning
  • Problem-solving and analytical ability to draw conclusions from data
  • Ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and drive results
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Contract and Price negotiation experience is advantageous
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree with Procurement or Supply Chain focus
  • CIPS/EIPM accreditation or equivalent functional knowledge or accreditation
  • Experience of ERP (SAP/Coupa)
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels to manage expectations and push back where appropriate
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively and accurately, anticipating problems, managing expectations, resolving issues, and identifying solutions
  • Takes ownership of tasks and ability to make decisions
  • Demonstrates patience and perseverance during setbacks and challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience of dealing with both internal and external customers/suppliers at all levels
