Job Title: Senior Manager of Government Relations

Lenovo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Government Relations to join our team in Berlin, Germany. As a key member of our Government Relations team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key government stakeholders, evaluating the impact of government guidelines and processes on our business, and advocating on our behalf to government decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain relationships with key government stakeholders at all levels of government.
  • Evaluate the impact of government guidelines and processes on our business and advocate on our behalf to government decision-makers.
  • Align and engage with government to create a good working relationship and adoption of our portfolio products in public markets.
  • Liaise and communicate with government authorities and bodies on policy matters, building relationships and ensuring regular communication with policymakers, government authorities, and advisors to understand the latest regulatory requirements.
  • Actively identify emerging and significant policy issues in Germany and the EU and engage with stakeholders on issues of importance.
  • Monitor political and social events in Germany and work with local teams to mitigate operational risks.
  • Work closely with business units to address their issues with various departments and organizations in government.
  • Provide inputs and influence policy and regulatory legislations that affect our business.
  • Stakeholder mapping at central, state, institutional, NGO, and international organization levels to prepare a blueprint for engagement and influencing processes.
  • Represent Lenovo at major industry trade associations and work directly or through trade associations to play a key role in the development of business intelligence in political and regulatory information and in-market competition.
Requirements:
  • 12+ years of demonstrated experience in managing public policy, government relations, and advocacy, or international trade relations and diplomatic sectors.
  • A vast understanding of the German technology market, ideally in the areas of laptop/IT hardware/mobile phones/cloud computing.
  • Keen understanding of the German political system, environment, and institutions, as well as cultural landscape.
  • Solid network with local policymakers, academia, and a working knowledge of the technology industry.
  • Experience with other government/policy schemes in Germany and the wider EU, and experience in government or diplomatic sectors.
