Experienced Nanny for Bilingual Family

Kinder Nannies & Staff Ltd. is seeking an experienced and qualified nanny to join our team as a long-term caregiver for a bilingual family residing in Hannover, Germany. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in childcare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with children of various ages.
Family Details
- The family is bilingual, speaking both German and English, and has a strong emphasis on maintaining a balance between both languages.
- The family has a spacious one-bedroom apartment available for the nanny's use, or a higher salary can be offered to accommodate alternative living arrangements.
- The family owns a car, which can be provided for the nanny's use, and has easy parking in a quiet area of central Hannover.
Nanny Responsibilities
- Provide full-time childcare for the twins (ages 0-1) and older children (ages 7 and 5) from Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 6:00pm.
- Assist with school pick-ups and after-school care for the older children.
- Prepare healthy meals for the children and plan meals in collaboration with the family's weekly grocery order.
- Establish and maintain a daily routine for the children, including homework support and ensuring they complete their tasks.
- Supervise shower/bath time for the older children and ensure they maintain good hygiene habits.
- Take the older children to after-school clubs and activities as needed.
- Wash, fold, and organize the children's clothes, and work with the parents to replace or acquire new items as required.
- Ensure the children keep their toys tidy and organized, and proactively suggest when toys should be retired or donated.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience working as a nanny in a demanding career environment.
- Native-level German speaker and fluent English speaker.
- EU citizenship or ability to obtain a Germany work visa.
- Fully up-to-date DBS check or local equivalent.
- Organized, structured, and able to establish a routine with children.
- Focus on supporting kindness, respect, and good manners in children.
- Academic ability sufficient for supporting older children with reading and homework up to around age 14.
- Familiarity with basic technology such as WhatsApp, Google Calendar, and school apps.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with children ranging in age from 0-10.
- Experience working with bilingual children, especially with supporting reading and spelling in German and English.
- Experience working with energetic boys who require a lot of exercise.
- Driving license valid for use in Germany.
- UK work visa.
- Experience living/working outside Germany and preferably in the UK or US.
Benefits
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
- Full medical and other insurances, pension provision, and all other benefits required for full-time employees in Germany.
- 25 days paid holiday per year, with half available for use at any time and half to be agreed with the family.
- Flexible start date, with the possibility of starting as early as the end of 2024 or up to mid-2025.
- Possibility of relocation to another country or city at some point in or after 2026, with the preference for the nanny to accompany the family.
