About the Role

As a key member of our global team, you will provide bioinformatics analyses and decision support to our biotechnology research and development activities. Your tasks will include collecting, analyzing, and comparing biological data, drawing conclusions from your analyses, and communicating results, interpretations, and recommendations to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and compare biological data to draw conclusions and communicate results to non-technical audiences.
• Work closely with experimental molecular biology and sequencing labs to develop innovative solutions to biotechnology problems.
• Provide guidance to project partners on experimental planning, data collection, and processing.
• Develop new methods using sequencing technologies and guide the establishment of new assays in molecular analytics.
• Manage projects and actively participate in global cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field with experience in handling and analyzing NGS and biological data.
• Profound scripting abilities (e.g., Python, R, shell scripting) and experience in at least one programming language (e.g., C, C++, Java).
• Working knowledge of UNIX-like operating systems and database systems, as well as thorough knowledge of bioinformatics tools.
• Experience in handling and analyzing genomics, transcriptomics, or proteomics data.
• Preferred experience working with NGS data from both prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
• Basic experience working with workflow managers and containerization would be a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the initiative to actively communicate with data producers and users in an interdisciplinary environment.
• Entrepreneurial and team-oriented.
