About the Position

We are seeking a top early career scholar with an internationally visible profile in research and teaching German as a foreign language with a focus on linguistics. The successful candidate will be required to teach in all bachelor's and master's degree programs concerning the German language as well as in all relevant teaching degree programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop outstanding expertise in the field of German as a foreign language with a focus on linguistics
  • Conduct empirical research into language acquisition or empirical research into multilingualism
  • Teach in all bachelor's and master's degree programs concerning the German language
  • Participate in the research training group «Die konstruktionsgrammatische Galaxis» (the construction grammar galaxy)
  • Contribute to research activities at the interdisciplinary linguistics centers
  • Engage in international collaboration and exchange programs
Requirements
  • Initial academic achievements and the capacity for independent research at the highest international standards
  • Substantial research experience abroad and/or experience in managing research projects and in raising third-party funding
  • University degree and an outstanding doctoral degree
  • Passion for education and relevant teaching experience
  • Ability and willingness to teach in both German and English
