Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Search

Search Relevance Team
The Search Relevance team at Wolt owns the ML components of the Search stack that retrieve and rank restaurants, stores, dishes, and items. This team's ML capabilities enable Wolt to find the right results for customer queries across different touchpoints in the customer journey.
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in the Search Relevance team, you will:
- Develop, train, deploy, and maintain retrieval and ranking models to surface relevant content for customer queries.
- Work at Wolt's scale, operating in 28 markets with multiple languages and millions of customers.
- Collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team of Applied Scientists, Software Engineers, and Analysts to provide solutions to customer problems with a direct impact on the company's business KPIs.
- Build the team's ML infrastructure and raise the team's ML engineering excellence bar.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot the Search Relevance ML stack.
- Contribute to MLOps practices and liaise with Wolt's ML Platform team.
This role can be based in one of Wolt's tech hubs in Berlin, Helsinki, or Stockholm.
Requirements
- At least 4+ years of experience in ML/MLOps with end-to-end machine learning deployments and maintenance of ML systems.
- Deployed and ran ML models in production at scale.
- Experience in scaling and troubleshooting machine learning deployments, with the ability to help with technical issues.
- Good understanding of ML and MLOps principles, as well as Software engineering experience in Python.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, workflow orchestration tools, model and experiment registries, and model serving systems.
- Domain experience in Search is highly preferable, with a focus on building, managing, and improving highly performant search solutions.
- Solid communication and collaboration skills, with experience in coordinating initiatives with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Additional Information
The position will be filled once the right candidate is found. The compensation will be a negotiable combination of monthly pay and DoorDash RSUs, with the latter allowing for a direct stake in the company's growth and success.
