Director of German R&D

About the Role
The R&D Director Germany will lead the R&D organization in Germany, collaborating closely with the R&D Director Finland. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the German R&D teams in BioIT, Molecular Biology, Microbial Technology, and Enzyme Technology, comprising 35 R&D professionals.
- Developing and further building the German R&D organization to support ABE's growth strategy, focusing on people management, talent management, team development, and hiring.
- Representing the R&D organization internally and externally.
- Contributing to shaping the Technology- and Product-Development strategy of the company, translating product portfolio needs into technological capabilities.
- Implementing Technology- and Product-development strategies in the German R&D organization, ensuring R&D remains 'fit for purpose' and securing required experience and capabilities.
- Reporting to the Global Director Portfolio Management and R&D.
- Member of the Strategic Development Leadership Team.
About You
We are seeking a candidate with:
- Demonstrated leadership experience in R&D/Product development organizations.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships within and beyond the R&D organization.
- Proven ability to translate business and market needs into technological requirements and product development.
- Successful track record in industrial biotech R&D, preferably in the enzyme industry.
- Strong communication skills, with fluency in English, and German as a plus.
- An international mindset and understanding of the importance of collaborating across geographies.
