Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our European VAT Compliance & Controllership team as a VAT Compliance Specialist. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our third-party sellers comply with VAT regulations in various jurisdictions across Europe.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Building and maintaining relationships with German Tax Authorities;
  • Providing transactional data to tax authorities in respect of 3P sellers;
  • Managing and controlling access of 3P sellers to Amazon marketplaces based on VAT compliance status and requests from tax authorities;
  • Responding to VAT compliance queries from Amazon businesses operating across Europe;
  • Providing internal and external audit support, including data analysis;
  • Supporting colleagues throughout the business and accounting groups;
  • Participating in cross-functional projects;
  • Actively mapping VAT compliance processes and identifying areas for improvement.

We are looking for a highly organized, analytical, and methodical individual with excellent communication skills, particularly in English and German. You should be able to take ownership of work, implement change, and demonstrate a problem-solving approach.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including excellent command of English and German;
  • Organized, analytical, and methodical with strong attention to detail;

  • Clear, crisp, and proactive documentation of operational procedures required to tackle known risk-related patterns;
  • Ability to effectively manage time and individually prioritize multiple tasks of competing priority;
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Excel;
  • A strong desire to drive results and exceed expectations;
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and data security standards;
  • A proven team player with a hands-on, team-oriented attitude;
  • Technical background and programming skills (SQL, VBA, Python, etc.).
