About the Role
We are looking for a customer-oriented and innovation-driven individual to join our team as a Technical Service and Development Scientist for Wire & Cable, located in Germany. The incumbent will be part of the Technical Service and Development (TS&D) group within the Packaging and Specialty Plastics business. The TS&D Scientist for this position will work on the Wire & Cable market, focusing mainly on Telecom Cable projects and customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement products to meet market trends and customer requirements, aiming to deliver significant value growth through technical differentiation.
- Drive projects that fulfill customer needs and align with the market strategy.
- Master cable extrusion converting technology and provide technical service to ensure the technical success of Dow Solutions at customers.
- Report technical findings at customers through reports of calls, technology developments via CRI reports, and protect innovation by filing appropriate patent disclosures.
- Assess the value of projects and report the value upon project implementation.
Qualifications
- Master's degree, PhD, or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Sciences, or Polymer technology.
- Fluency in English is a must, and other European languages are a plus. Willingness to learn German is appreciated.
- Experience in cable extrusion, plastics/polymers processing, material characterization, and customer service.
- Knowledge of Telecom market (Copper Wire and Fiber Optical Cable).
- Knowledge of Power transmission and flame-retardant technologies is a plus.
- Flexibility: Travelling within EMEA region up to 30-40%.
