Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our European Train Control System (ETCS) Wayside Engineering Team. As a Data Engineer, you will be involved in the technical project management for ETCS trackside equipment in one of our international projects. Your responsibilities will include analyzing project-specific requirements, checking them for technical feasibility, and preparing initial technical planning documents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical project management for ETCS trackside equipment
  • Analyze project-specific requirements and check them for technical feasibility
  • Prepare initial technical planning documents, including configuration of balises, lineside electronic units, and radio block centers
  • Interface with other subsystems and engineering tools to ensure smooth project implementation
  • Support the creation of software for the ETCS track system in close cooperation with our Engineering Center abroad
  • Contribute innovative ideas for the further development and optimization of our products, components, implementation processes, and software tools for the ETCS system
Requirements
  • University degree in an engineering discipline, ideally with a focus on transportation or rail automation
  • Practical experience in the field of railroad safety technology
  • Specialist knowledge of transportation or rail automation, standards, or engineering processes
  • Good technical understanding and systematic thinking
  • Very good command of English and ideally German
  • Willingness to travel occasionally at home and abroad (approx. 20%)
