Job Title: Research Associate

Helmut-Schmidt-Universität / Universität der Bundeswehr Hamburg is seeking a highly qualified Research Associate to join our team in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professorship for Department of Methodology and Statistics for Psychology.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and publication activities in the field of psychological methods and statistics, focusing on causal inference, individual diagnostics, multi-level and longitudinal modeling, machine learning, and Bayesian statistics.
  • Provide methodological and statistical consulting services to academic staff and students.
  • Assist in teaching, with a minimum of 2.0 trimester hours per week.
  • Participate in academic service activities, including academic self-administration and general administrative work.
  • Possibility of further academic qualification, such as a doctorate or habilitation.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in German, corresponding to at least B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
  • Excellent knowledge of psychological methods, statistics, and diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of statistical software, especially R.
  • Proactivity, reliability, ability to work in a team, and strong communication skills.
  • Independent and structured way of working, creative problem-solving skills, and strong mathematical and statistical-analytical skills.
