Data Science Engineer for Wind Turbine Reliability

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Science Engineer to join our team at Fraunhofer IWES, focusing on wind energy and hydrogen technologies. As a key member of our Technical Reliability group, you will contribute to increasing the reliability of wind turbines and optimizing their operation and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze field data from wind turbine operation and maintenance.
  • Model the operating and failure behavior of wind turbine components to identify faults at an early stage.
  • Carry out failure cause analysis for individual components and the overall system.
  • Develop methods for new data products and visualize them.
  • Communicate and organize data transfer from external parties and manage data.
Requirements
  • Completed diploma or master's degree in Engineering, preferably with a focus on Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Good technical understanding of wind turbines.
  • Familiarity with statistics and data set analysis.
  • Experience working with Matlab, Python, or another programming language.
